The Book Of Truths

I have never tried to "measure" the amount of love and admiration flowing toward me, nor have I tried to measure with some idea of restricting the amount of love and admiration I feel for others.

But, now, as I look this over I find that I have had a very great deal of experience in both the giving and the receiving of admiration from others.

When I was very young, in elementary school in Korea one of my teachers truly influenced me by telling me to "think big." No matter what a person may have as a self-evaluation, the evaluation goes up a few notches every time someone earnestly says: "think big" because, behind that thought is the admiration that "you can do it!"

The reverse is painful and pitiful: "No, you shouldn't try to do that, you don't have the talent!!" All too often this is the lesson being taught by life and that lesson is always taught by some person, not an event, where the person suggests that "...you can't do that!!!"

I suggest that you admire all and any, and that when you do, you will get on the receiving end of the mighty river of help and admiration flowing in the direction of your own efforts, goals and purposes.

In telling my own story I have come to realize this great spiritual truth -- about the vital importance of understanding and practicing the behavior of "admiration."

I've also come to realize how valuable to my own success has been my own behavior of admiring others and how satisfying it has been to receive the admiration of others -- undoubtedly that receipt of admiration has been caused by my ability and willingness to FIRST outflow my own admiration of others.

This brings me to realize an even greater truth -- a spiritual truth that needs to be an important part of any spiritual system or religion I would adopt or espouse for myself or others as a "religion."

Does this "religion" contain a "teaching" of admiration? Does the religion include a system of not only dreaming big dreams, but clearing away the mental and spiritual obstacles preventing a person from achieving those dreams?

When I was 17 I saw my Kung Fu Fan dancer, and today I have achieved that dream. My fondest hope and purpose in life, now, is to help others achieve their own big dreams.

I believe that any other person can achieve their own big dreams and that when and as they come into my universe of Kung Fu and learn these martial arts principles (including both the forms and "admiration") they will not only become a better student of the martial art, but be well on their way to spiritual freedom. Ultimately, of course, spiritual freedom can come only by helping others achieve that same goal for man cannot live by himself as a spiritually free being while his fellows still swallow in the mud of mental misery.

And, so have I achieved one of the ancient quests for martial arts for my students and friends -- to help them develop spiritual freedom at least in part because of their accepting the physical discipline of learning and practicing this art!

When you take on a higher ranking belt in this art, through physical training and demonstration of form, you have likewise, demonstrated your own spiritual attainment. The start with the white belt is your beginning of travel on this road!
